How Google’s AI models are reducing warming impact by flights

We remember the times as kids when we used to be fascinated by trails behind flights but little did we know that these surprisingly have a large impact on our climate. Google has now explained how its artificial intelligence (AI) models are helping airlines to mitigate the climate impact of these clouds, called Contrails.

What are Contrails?

Contrail, or condensation trail or vapour trail, is a ‘stream of cloud’ that is created by aeroplanes when they are moving through clear cold humid air. It forms upon condensation of water vapour produced by the combustion of fuel in aeroplane engines.
