How Amazon may become the new ‘TikTok headache’ for Facebook

It is very much a fact that TikTok has made life tough for Facebook’s parent Meta. The short video platform TikTok is the biggest threat to Instagram, let alone leave Facebook. Almost every social media platform seems to be trying to copy TikTok to stay relevant to the young audience. Now reports suggest that Amazon may be the club’s newest member.
As per Watchful, an AI product intelligence platform, Amazon seems to be working on a TikTok-like vertical video feed for its shopping app. The feature, internally known as “Inspire,” is being currently tested with a few employees. The feed can be accessed through the ‘diamond’ shaped icon appearing in the bottom navigation bar, which again reminds us of TikTok and Reels.
Like TikTok and Reels, “Inspire” shows shoppers videos and even images of products. And there is also an option to like, share and purchase the shown product, quite similar to Meta’s “Reels with product tags.”
