Here’s why Apple will pay Amazon $360 million a year

In the last couple of years the relationship between Apple and Amazon – two of the world’s biggest tech companies – has become better. Last year, more Apple products – including the iPhone – were made available on Amazon and now a report highlights how Apple is dependent on Amazon for other services. As per a report by CNBC, Apple is reliant on Amazon’s cloud services company called Amazon Web Services.
Apple reportedly will pay Amazon $30 million every month to use its Amazon Web Services. Apple has a huge user base – it was reported that more than 1 billion Apple devices are used every month – and to cater to them it has to use Amazon’s cloud services.
With Apple betting big on its Services business, it’s quite obvious that it will need to use cloud services more than ever before. The CNBC report further suggests that Apple had reached a deal with Amazon to pay over $1.5 billion for the next five years to use its cloud services. Last year, Apple had paid close to $350 million for these services, the report further added.
