It is because of this feature, “tens of millions” iPhone users have disabled location access to several apps, as per a report by The Wall Street Journal. The report adds that this feature has become a concern for some developers that such constant reminders will lead to less use of their apps.
As per the report, some iPhone users are also frustrated with reminders in every few days despite choosing the “always allow” option.
In response to The Wall Street Journal, an Apple spokesperson said, “Apple has not built a business model around knowing a customer’s location or the location of their device.” This comment from the Cupertino-based tech giant implies that this feature is not going anywhere.
