Here’s how Google is getting some employees back in offices
Employees of every big tech company have been working from home or remotely. The coronavirus pandemic has shown little signs of going away but there have been glimmers of hope. Amidst all this, a report by CNBC has revealed that Google has started calling some employees back at its campuses.
As per the report, Google is conducting socially distanced meetings on lawns and certain other areas of its campuses. The idea behind the move is to collaborate on select important projects offline. Bringing back some employees is also being done to get new hires aboard, according to the report. Most of the meetings are being conducted in outdoor spaces only, as per the report.
Interestingly, Google had given the option of working from home to employees till summer of 2021. In fact, in September this year, Google CEO Sundar Pichai had outlined the plan of how the company was thinking of getting employees back in offices. Pichai had said that Google would try something called “hybrid” work-from-home model as well as rearranging office settings across Google campuses.
