HC allows ZEE plea, grants injunction on Invesco EGM call

In a major relief to Zee Entertainment Enterprises (ZEE), the Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted an injunction against the company’s largest shareholder Invesco restraining it from going ahead with the requisition of an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) seeking removal of MD& CEO Punit Goenka.

Justice Gautam Patel, while pronouncing an operative part of the order said, “I have granted an injunction to the respondents. The order will be uploaded soon.”

The detailed order is awaited.

On Friday the High Court had reserved its order in the case filed by ZEE seeking to declare the requisition notice sent Invesco invalid.
