HBO Max on-boards SonyLIV’s Saugata Mukherjee as head of content for India

HBO Max, the video streaming service owned by WarnerMedia, has poached SonyLIV’s Sugata Mukherjee as head of content for India.

Mukherjee, who joined Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) in February last year as head of original content for the company’s digital OTT platform, is expected to join later this month, a highly placed source said.

“HBO Max is some time away from launch in India, but it has started building a team. Saugata is one of the first senior executives they have hired. The launch of the service is expected after the first quarter of 2022,” he said.
