H-1Bs to the top 7 Indian firm dropped 37 pc in FY16

The Indian IT sector has been continuously battling on the visa issue with the American authority. The US government wants the Indian companies to hire more local Americans. Recently, an analysis by National Foundation for American Policy says that top seven Indian companies received 9,356 H-1B petitions in 2016 as compared to 14,792 in 2015. It means a drop of 37 per cent. The 9,356 new petitions approved for the top 7 Indian-based companies in FY 2016 represent only 0.006 per cent of the US labor force.
