Greater collaboration needed between space cos, defence forces: ISpA’s AK Bhatt

NEW DELHI: There is a greater need for the space companies and the defence forces to work in a collaborative manner, considering the new space policy is on the horizon, according to a top official of the Indian Space Association (ISpA).

“We are expecting the New Space Policy to come out soon and we believe that the interactions around the Space Activity Bill will start in a couple of months after the space policy and the Department of Space aims to come out with a bill also by the end of this year. Space plays a critical role in defence forces operations and hence there is a greater need to work together,” said Lt. Gen. AK Bhatt, Director General, ISpA, at a recent industry event.
