Govt will find solution to issue of telecom dues, says revenue secy Tarun Bajaj: CNBC TV-18

NEW DELHI: India’s Revenue Secretary Tarun Bajaj said the Central government will find a solution to the issue of telecom dues, CNBC TV-18 reported.

Earlier in the day, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) reportedly said the moratorium on spectrum dues cannot be extended “unilaterally” and will require the finance ministry’s nod and the latter has expressed apprehensions about the financial implications of such a move.

Previously, the government had allowed a moratorium on spectrum dues for FY21 and FY22 while the next tranche of non-AGR spectrum dues will be payable from April 2022 onwards.
