Govt received ‘excellent’ response for hardware PLI scheme from cos, says IT Min Ashwini Vaishnaw

Under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for hardware, the government has received excellent response from global entities including Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Acer among others, the Union Minister of Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Wednesday. The government received applications from as many as 32 companies.

“Excellent response received for the production of laptops and PCs under the hardware Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) scheme. We have met almost all the 32 companies who applied and the portal will be closing tonight. Companies that will be manufacturing laptops include HP India, Dell, Acer, Lenovo, Thomson and others,” Vaishnaw said in a media briefing.
