Govt launches India Internet Governance Forum

To better ensure that India’s 800 million and growing Internet users are better represented at a global level, the government on Monday announced the launch of the local chapter of the United Nations’ Internet Governance Forum that will act as a platform for discussing policies related to the Internet.

The India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF) will be constituted by around 12 members from across the government, civil society, industry and associations and will be led by Anil Kumar Jain, CEO of the National Internet Exchange of India.
