Govt favours level playing field in telecom amid satcom entry

New Delhi: The government does not intend to disturb the “level-playing field” in the telecom sector, particularly due to satcom services for which spectrum will be given administratively to players but at a pricing that is fair to all.

The government will soon write to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) to suggest pricing and other modalities around satellite spectrum, a senior official said Wednesday.
