Govt approves ₹436 crore for digital upskilling of IT workforce
NEW DELHI : The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has partnered with NASSCOM to create an online platform to upskill IT professionals to increase their employability.
“The government will release ₹436 crore for this purpose. The government along with NASSCOM will develop a programme for training 4 lakh professionals in higher digital skilling over the next 3 years,” IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters on Wednesday.
The idea behind the exercise is to train existing IT professionals in 10 emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cyber security, Internet of Things, among others.
