Government working with FICCI for National Broadcast Policy: I&B secretary

MUMBAI: The information and broadcasting ministry is working with the industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) to come out with a National Broadcast Policy for the broadcast sector, Amit Khare, secretary, I&B ministry said here on Tuesday.

Khare, who was delivering a keynote address at the media industry conclave FICCI Frames 2019, said, “The draft (of National Broadcast Policy) is being prepared and we are working with key and other stakeholders.”

Khare said that the government so far has followed a “liberal policy” of having less regulation. “The ministry favours self-regulation for the broadcast sector.
