Government has a security warning for this Microsoft ‘antivirus’ app, here’s how it affects you

Alongside Microsoft Edge, CERT-In or Computer Emergency Response Team has issued an important warning for a Microsoft tool that’s designed to keep users’ data safe. The government body has mentioned that they’ve found multiple vulnerabilities within a particular version of the Microsoft Defender tool.

According to the report, “multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Microsoft Defender for IoT.

An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by uploading malicious files and gaining shell access to the server on the targeted system.”
