Government extends NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant tenure to two years

NEW DELHI: The Union government has on Wednesday extended the tenure of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) chief executive Amitabh Kant to two years.

“The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension of tenure of Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog for a further period of two years beyond 30.06.2019 i.e. up to 30.06.2021,” the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) in a notification said.

However, other terms and conditions, as approved earlier for the top post would remain the same.
