Gordon E Moore: an accidental entrepreneur who pioneered the chip industry revolution

Gordon E Moore, a cofounder and former chairman of Intel Corp., the California semiconductor chipmaker that helped give Silicon Valley its name, achieving the kind of industrial dominance once held by giant American railroad or steel companies of another age, died Friday at his home in Hawaii. He was 94.
