Google to shut down Android Auto for Phone Screens app

Google is shutting down the Android Auto for Phone Screens app. As per a report by 9to5Google, it will be replaced with the Google Assistant Driving Mode.

In case you are not aware, Android Auto for Phone Screens feature was rolled out in 2019 to offer in-car experience for people who didn’t have cars compatible with the Android Auto service.

Android Auto service enables one to connect to their smartphones by offering a custom Google UI onto a vehicle’s infotainment screen. However, not all cars come with built-in support for it. Android Auto for Phone Screens app was launched after Google had to delay its Google Assistant Driving mode.
