Google to fix Pixel 4 security issue which unlocks phone even when the eyes are closed

Google is reportedly working on a fix to improve the Face Unlock in the Pixel 4 phones. The company is said to be working on a software feature that would need users to open their eyes to unlock the phone. The latest Google Pixel 4 smartphones doesn’t come with a fingerprint scanner and it only relies on Face Unlock to secure them. Google in its support page has officially warned Pixel 4 users that “the phone can be unlocked by someone who looks a lot like you, like an identical sibling.”
“We’ve been working on an option for users to require their eyes to be open to unlock the phone, which will be delivered in a software update in the coming months. In the meantime, if any Pixel 4 users are concerned that someone may take their phone and try to unlock it while their eyes are closed, they can activate a security feature that requires a pin, pattern or password for the next unlock.,” said Google in a statement to The Verge.
