Google to fix its ‘mistake’ that gave iPhone users access to this feature
It was recently reported that Pixel 4 users will not get free original quality image backup for Google Photos. Days later, another report suggested that it is not the case for iPhone users as they continue to get free backup for photos in original format. Now, a fresh report has emerged online confirming the same and saying Google is working to fix this ‘bug’.
According to a report by Android Police, Google has indeed confirmed this anomaly and calls it a ‘bug’ that will be fixed soon. The report cites a Google spokesperson saying “We are aware of this bug and are working to fix it.”
To understand it better, Google Pixel users till now could upload original quality images in Google Photos for free. This, however, is not the case for Pixel 4 series phones. Instead, the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL users will get free backup for compressed images only. To upload original quality images in Google Photos, one needs to have a premium (paid in simple terms) Google account.
