Google to bring this ‘much-awaited’ feature in the upcoming major Android update

Google has already brought several new OS features with Android Q beta updates. While the fifth beta version is yet to reach eligible smartphones, a beta member claims to have received it. And one of the key changes that was spotted was how easily users will be able to access the notifications panel from the home screen. As reported by the XDA developers, Android Q beta 5 will finally bring the ability to swipe down from the home screen to access the notification tray, something that is still not possible in the Pixel smartphone’s launcher. Of course, you can get this feature working in smartphones using third-party launchers. Some OEMs — including OnePlus too have adopted this feature.
The feature will let users swipe down from anywhere on the home screen to access the notifications. For now, you would have to swipe all the way from the top to get the notifications tray but given the new feature’s popularity among other launchers and smartphones, Google adding this in Android Q will definitely be a welcome addition for many.
