Google rolls out Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1 for Pixel: List of devices, new features and more
Google is expected to launch the stable version of Android 14 with the upcoming Pixel 8 series. Meanwhile, the tech giant has started rolling out the Android 14 QPR1 Beta 1 version for Pixel phones, tablets, and foldable smartphones. Quarterly Platform Releases (QPR) are different from monthly bug fixes as they offer more notable changes. These updates are ideal for major UI tweaks and new features that can’t wait for the next major Android release.
Moreover, QPRs are relatively stable and launch as beta versions instead of developer previews. Google officially says they are “suitable for general use,” with Android 14 QPR1 launching in December. The company has confirmed that users who are on the Beta Program for Android 14 will automatically get QPR1 Beta 1. However, if users want to get the final stable public Android 14 release first, they have to opt out of Android’s beta program.
