Google Play Store temporarily blocks access to banned Chinese apps in India
Two days after the Centre banned 59 Chinese apps, Google and Apple have started process to comply with the government’s order by taking down these mobile applications from their respective app stores
Google blocked all 59 apps from Play Store while Apple also already blocked access to many apps for its users.
“While we continue to review the interim orders from the Government of India, we have notified the affected developers and have temporarily blocked access to the apps that remained available on the Play Store in India,” a Google spokesperson said.
Though Apple also took a similar approach as Google in complying with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology order, the US based firm did not respond to a request for comment.
