Google plans another step to make YouTube ‘safer’ for kids, here’s how
Google’s video platform YouTube is all set to launch a separate website for kids. To recall, back in 2016, YouTube launched the kid-centric version of its YouTube app called YouTube Kids in India. The app was launched as the family-friendly app for both iOS and Android users. Now, YouTube is going to launch a separate website, which was announced not in a blogpost but on YouTube forum support page. “Later this week, we will be launching YouTube Kids on the Web! We’ll update this thread as soon as the new site is live,” said the post.
The post also announced a new update that is coming to the YouTube Kids app. The YouTube Kids app will allow parents to select from three different age groups — preschool, younger and older — to choose the right content for their kid. The content on in the ‘preschool’ age group will be curated for 4 years and younger. It will include videos that promote creativity, playfulness, learning and exploration, said YouTube. The ‘younger’ age group will be designed for kids in the age group of 5-7 and will include videos from topics including songs, cartoons, crafts and more.
