Google Photos now tells which photos, videos you haven’t backed up

Google has rolled out a new update to its Photos application for Android users. The latest update makes it easier for users to spot photos and images that haven’t been backed up to Photos.

After the update, users will see a back up status indicator next to images and videos in the gallery view. This will help users manually back up a photo whenever they prefer. The latest update also brings optimisation for foldable phones such as Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X.

“We’ve launched a new gallery view to help you see which of your photos and videos have not yet been backed up and proactively choose items to backup. Additionally we’ve introduced several improvements to make Google Photos compatible with foldable devices,” writes Google under the “what’s new” section in the Play Store.
