Google Pay – CCI orders probe

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ordered a detailed probe against Google for unfair business practices with respect to Google Pay and Google Play Store. The competition regulator prima facie found that Google may be abusing its dominant position in India, with regards to Play Store’s exclusivity and Google Pay services.

The probe has been ordered against five entities – Alphabet Inc, Google LLC, Google Ireland Ltd, Google India Pvt Ltd and Google India Digital Services Pvt Ltd.
