Google moves Chrome OS to 4-week release schedule

NEW DELHI: Tech giant Google has announced that it will be adjusting the update release cycle for its Chrome OS later this year. The company has revealed that it will roll out a new release every four weeks.

Chrome OS release TPM lead Marina Kazatcker said in a blog post, “To deliver new features more rapidly to consumers while also continuing to prioritize the key pillars of Chrome OS – security, stability, speed and simplicity – Chrome OS will move to a 4-week stable channel starting with M96 in Q4.”

Google also adds that it plans to introduce a new update channel with an interval of 6 months for its enterprise and education users who want to be a part of the fast release cycle.
