Google Messages as WhatsApp alternative: Pros, cons and things you should keep in mind

In between the RCS adoption by Apple, Google, has been slowly updating the Google Messages app to offer more features and functions, to make the app stay competitive against other popular options like WhatsApp, Signal, Messenger and others.

Recently, Android’s default SMS app has received better message management, improved customisation, and reminder integration. And, the app already offers features like the ability to share photos, videos, live locations, voice notes, etc.

Google is putting all its efforts into making the Messages app a viable alternative to WhatsApp and other instant messaging apps.
