Google Meet for Android gets new user interface
Internet search giant Google has updated the user interface of the Google Meet Android mobile app. After the update, the UI of the app will look similar to the “meeting experience in the Gmail app and was previously rolled out to the Meet app on iOS,” said the company in a blog post.
The new user interface is fully available on Android devices, the company announced.
Also, it will be available to users with personal Google Accounts as well as to Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, Education, Enterprise for Education, and Nonprofits customers.
Just last month, Google announced the company’s plans to extend its policy which allows users to host meetings for longer than 60 minutes.
Earlier the company had announced that it will enforce a time limit after September 30 under which users will be allowed to hold meetings for 60 minutes only. The company then decided to extend this new timeline till March 31, 2021.
In an official blog post Google said, “As we look ahead to a holiday season with less travel and important milestones like family reunions, PTA meetings and weddings hosted over video, we want to continue helping those who rely on Meet to stay in touch over the coming months.
