Google may pay you for doing simple tasks on your smartphone
Google has had many a reward programmes for smartphone users to trial its apps and services. The Google Pay app in India, for instance, gives cash backs and other rewards for doing transactions on the app. There’s also the Google Opinion Rewards app that earns users credits on Google Play Store. Now, it seems like Google is testing an app that will earn users money by doing ‘simple’ tasks. According to a report by 9to5Google, the app called Task Mate is in early access and is being tested with a select few users through a referral code system.
The report cites a post on Reddit and states that these ‘tasks’ are considered simple by Google and are related to “businesses around the world.” The tasks can be going to a location and take photos of a shop. Or to record spoken sentences and even transcribing sentences. The tasks, as per the report, are classified into two categories — Sitting tasks and Field tasks. The report says that the tasks could include taking “a photo of a nearby restaurant, answer survey questions about your preferences, or help translate sentences from English to your local language.”
