Google may launch just one affordable Pixel phone in 2020
In 2019, Google gave India a complete miss when it launched its Pixel 4 smartphones with the ‘promise’ that its affordable phones will be launched. The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL were Google’s first affordable premium phones and it was expected that their successors will come soon. However, rumours suggest that Google will launch just Pixel 4a and give Pixel 4 a — the bigger screen variant — miss.
A report by 9to5Google suggests that Google is expected to launch Pixel in just one screen size — 5.8-inches. Last year, the Pixel 3a came in two screen sizes, 5.6-inch and 6-inch but the bigger XL variant might not launch this year. The reason behind the move — if true — is not known as of now.
As far as other specifications are concerned, the 9to5Google report says that the OLED display on the Pixel 4a would feature full HD+ (2340 * 1080) resolution. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor, which is found in several mid-range phones from the likes of Xiaomi and others. The phone is expected to have 6GB of RAM on board coupled with 64GB/128GB of storage.
