Google launches Nest Mini, its Amazon Echo Dot rival in India
Expanding its range of smart home devices, Google has launched Nest Mini smart speaker in India today. The device is the successor to Google Home Mini and comes with a price tag of Rs 4,499. Google Nest Mini can be purchased starting today from e-commerce site, Flipkart.com. It is available in two colour options, Charcoal and Chalk.
The newly-launched Google Nest Mini features a similar design as the original Mini speaker. The smart speakers flaunts a fabric-style circular design with round edges. Google claims that the fabric “covering on Nest Mini is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles”. Once setup, the smart speaker can be used to make calls and work as an intercom to talk from one device to the other. “All they need is a Duo account and/or a Google Home or Nest smart speaker or display,” says the company.
The wall mount feature of the speaker allows one to mount it on a wall to save shelf space. Just like the existing line of Google’s smart speakers — Google Home and Google Mini — the Nest Mini also supports English as well as Hindi.
