Google is shutting down Album Archive: Here’s how to download the data before it is gone

Last week, Google started setting its users an email update regarding shutting down the Album Archive. Now, if you are thinking that this has something to do with your phone’s gallery app or drive, then you are wrong. This Album Archive is all the photos shared with you via Google’s older messaging app — Hangouts. Now, if you have been using Hangouts as your daily driver at work or home, then all the photos shared via the app are stored on Album Archive.

Google has confirmed that it will shut down Album Archive on July 19 and till then users have the option to take complete backup of their photos and videos.
