Google is adding these security features to Gmail, Google Meet and Google Chat
Google has announced new updates for Gmail, Meet, and Chat to boost data security and offer more privacy to users. Google is working in new features to prevent phishing and also keep uninvited guests out of Google Meet video chats.
New security features coming to Gmail
Google has started testing a new standard for email security. Called Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI), this is in pilot phase right now and will be rolled to organisations who authenticate their emails using DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance).
This will basically allow companies to validate ownership of their corporate logos and securely transmit them to Google. After this, Google will check them through its anti-abuse, then it will start displaying the logo in existing avatar slots in the Gmail UI. The aim is essentially to create a stronger authenticity for emails that users receive from brands.
