The Data Saver mode is now called Lite mode. The feature will save data when they are browsing internet using the Chrome browser. The feature compresses the web pages visited by a user before downloading them. The company claims that with the Lite mode on users can save up to 60% of mobile data. Along with reducing the data wastage, the mode also improved the loading time of web pages.
Apart from this, Chrome can also predict when a page takes longer than 5 seconds to start loading and in this situation the Lite version of the page is downloaded.
