Google exploring plans for assembling of Pixel phones in India: Report
Samsung was the first major tier-1 brand to see the Indian market as a growth-engine and started manufacturing phones in almost all price ranges. It was followed by Xiaomi and since 2017, Cupertino-based technology major Apple has steadily increased the assembling of iPhones old and new models.
Now, reports have emerged that Google has similar plans to start local assembling of Pixel phones in India, The Economic Times reported citing company insider.
In 2020, the search engine giant received an overwhelming response to the Pixel 4a in India. Unlike the predecessor Pixel 3a, which was priced exorbitantly for a mid-range phone, the successor was much more affordable, and also the company offers additional discounts for a limited time, further driving the sales.
