Google Drive users lose months of data, here’s what Google has to say
Some Google Drive users have reported that some of their recent files stored in the cloud have disappeared. Users have complained of losing recent data and changes in the folder structure. It seems that the cloud service has rolled back to a storage snapshot from around a few months ago.
One Google Drive user recently reported losing all their data going back to May. The user took their complaint to Google’s community support site, where they were assisted by the support team in attempting to recover their data. However, the recovery process, which included backing up and restoring a DriveFS folder, was unsuccessful.
