Google braces for more layoffs after thousands fired in New Year: Report

Tech giant Google, which has laid off thousands across verticals in the first weeks of 2024, is bracing for more job cuts. Chief executive Sundar Pichai told employees in an internal memo that more roles will be impacted, as per a report by The Verge.

“We have ambitious goals and will be investing in our big priorities this year,” Pichai’s note to Google employees read, as per the report. “The reality is that to create the capacity for this investment, we have to make tough choices.”
