Google announces AI musical experience for Independence Day; here’s how you can participate
Technology giant Google has announced Artificial Intelligence (AI) musical experience for the country’s 73rd Independence Day celebrations. Under this, Google will use AI to convert a human voice recording of the National Anthem into any Indian instrument of one’s choice. The instruments could be Shehnai, Sarangi, or Bansuri. Google has partnered with Prasar Bharti and Virtual Bharat for this AI experiment.
This AI project will have two key ingredients: the AI work and an individual’s voice. Announcing this via a blog post, Google said “All you need to do is sing the national anthem, then using the power of AI your voice will get converted into one of three traditional Indian instruments.”
Here’s how to participate
Head to the g.co/SoundsofIndia where one will see an interactive web app that steps you through the process.
Before proceeding ahead, the page will allow one to hear the national anthem, giving a sense of the pitch and tempo.
Next, one will see a screen with the lyrics of the national anthem, which get highlighted to help him/her sing in rhythm. This is similar to a karaoke track.
After an individual has recorded the national anthem, he/she can choose their favourite Indian instrument.
