Global wearable shipments grow modestly to 148.4 mn units in Q3: IDC
NEW DELHI: Worldwide shipments of wearable devices grew modestly at 2.6% year-over-year to reach an all-time high for the quarter of 148.4 million units in Q3 2023, according to the latest data released by the International Data Corporation (IDC). The research firm attributed the growth to the rise of smaller brands and emerging categories such as smart rings.
As per IDC, the shipments volume in the September quarter even surpassed shipments in Q3 2021 (142.1 million units) and Q3 2022 (144.6 million units) when sales were driven by pandemic-related spending.
