Global telco spending on AI for network orchestration to reach $20 bn by 2028: Report
NEW DELHI: The global telecom operator spending on artificial intelligence (AI) for network orchestration will grow by 240% from $6 billion in 2024 to $20 billion by 2028, according to the latest report released by Juniper Research on Monday.
As per the research firm, enterprises’ increasing use of mobile networks, including for smart manufacturing and autonomous vehicles, will necessitate further investment into AI for automating key network processes.
These use cases require various degrees of high throughput, low latency and geographical coverage, according to Juniper Research. To maximise networks’ efficiency and reduce operational expenditure, the research firm has urged telcos to accelerate the incorporation of AI into core networks.
