Global tablet shipments up 19.5% to reach 52.2 million units in Q4:IDC
NEW DELHI: The worldwide tablet grew strongly with a 19.5% on-year growth in 4Q 2020 and shipments totaling 52.2 million units, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker.
This is the highest number of units shipped since the 4Q of 2017 when the total was 49.9 million, according to the data.
“Unprecedented demand in the consumer and education segments due to work from home and online learning has undoubtedly led to the resurgence in tablet demand,” said Anuroopa Nataraj, research analyst with IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker.
