Global tablet shipments fall 18% to 31.7 million units in Q1 2023, Apple leads: Canalys

NEW DELHI: Tablet shipments across the globe fell 18% year-over-year to 31.7 million units in Q1 2023, reaching the pre-pandemic levels, according to the latest report released by Canalys.

“This is the lowest number of shipments since the onset of the pandemic in Q1 2020, when supply and distribution were heavily disrupted,” said Canalys, cautioning that shipments are set to be around pre-pandemic levels in the short term, and vendors will benefit from opportunities in the premium consumer segment and from increased shipments in the commercial and education sectors.
