Global smartphone shipments to drop 5% in 2023, return to growth next year: Canalys

NEW DELHI: Global smartphone shipments are expected to drop 5% year-over-year to 1.13 billion – compared to a decline of 12% last year – which indicates that the market is on a gradual path to recovery, according to the latest report released by Canalys on Wednesday.

The research firm said the softening decline indicates stabilisation in regions such as the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America which are expected to return to growth at 9%, 3%, and 2%, respectively in 2023.
