Global broadband access equipment revenue reaches $3.3 billion in 1Q21, up 18% on-year: Report

NEW DELHI: The global revenue for the Broadband Access equipment market increased 18% on-year to reach $3.3 billion in 1Q21, driven by spending on PON OLT ports, particularly 10Gbps PON technologies, as per a report by global research firm Dell’Oro Group.

“The shift to 10 Gbps PON technologies is happening quickly and on a global basis,” noted Jeff Heynen, Vice President, Broadband Access and Home Networking at Dell’Oro Group.

“The only thing preventing further expansions are supply chain constraints and increased costs,” Heynen underscored.
