Global 5G subscriptions top 1 billion in 2022: Ericsson

NEW DELHI: The number of 5G subscriptions exceeded 1 billion in 2022, with the addition of 136 million subscriptions in the December quarter (Q4 2022), according to Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson.

235 communications service providers have launched commercial 5G services and around 35 have deployed or launched 5G standalone (SA) networks, according to Ericsson’s Q4 2022 update of its Mobility Report 2022.
