Ghaziabad ‘assault’ video case: Supreme Court notice to ex-Twitter India chief over UP Police plea

The Supreme Court Friday sought former Twitter India MD Manish Maheshwari’s reply on an appeal filed by Uttar Pradesh government, challenging a Karnataka High Court order quashing the notice issued to him earlier by UP Police.

In its notice, UP Police had sought Maheshwari’s presence in connection with its probe into a communally sensitive video uploaded on the microblogging site earlier this year.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India N V Ramana issued notice to Maheshwari, after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, who appeared for UP, contended that the matter involved questions of territorial jurisdiction.
