Get mobile SIM at your doorstep through Aadhaar card; here is how to

In a huge development, the government has just enabled everyone to get a mobile phone SIM at their doorstep courtesy their Aadhaar card. Customers can now apply for a new mobile phone connection through the online medium and get the SIM delivered at their doorstep. The only thing they require to get themselves verified is an Aadhaar card or any other document stored in Digilocker.

“The issuing of mobile connection to the customers is done through an app/portal-based online process wherein a customer can apply for mobile connection sitting at home/office and gets the SIM delivered at his doorstep using documents electronically verified by UIDAI (Aadhaar) or Digilocker,” The DoT’s order said.
