From INX Media to Sarada chit fund scam, cases against the Chidambarams

Congress leader and former Union minister P Chidambaram, who failed to get any protection from arrest from the Delhi High Court in the INX Media case, and his son Karti are also facing prosecution in the Aircel-Maxis corruption and money laundering cases.

In the Aircel-Maxis cases filed by CBI and ED, the anticipatory bail pleas of both Chidambaram and his son are pending in the trial court, which has granted them interim protection from arrest till August 23.

The interim protection, in Aircel-Maxis cases, was first granted to Chidambaram in July last year and since then it has been extended from time to time.
